Why it exists

A lock screen for people who still need to watch the screen

Input freeze

Blocks keyboard, mouse, and trackpad input behind a transparent overlay.

Local unlock

Unlock with macOS authentication through the helper process when you are back.

First-run setup

What testers should expect

TransparentLock uses a helper process to block input, so macOS asks for a few one-time approvals. The download includes a tester guide with the full flow.

  1. 1

Unzip the download and move TransparentLock.app to Applications.

  2. 2

Open it once, then use Privacy & Security to approve the unsigned tester build.

  3. 3

Approve the helper in Login Items & Extensions so it can run in the background.

  4. 4

Grant Accessibility and Input Monitoring when the app prompts for input blocking.
